I cannot recommend Fem highly enough. I was initially dubious about doing group sessions but actually found that they were a perfect addition to my child’s 11+ journey and, as a bonus, were lots of fun for my child who learnt really well in a collaborative environment. Fem is an incredibly skilled and solid teacher, managing the dynamic with the children as a whole, but also each individual in a way that keeps a lesson vibrant, engaging and very productive for all, even if abilities within the group are not necessarily identical. She is experienced and deeply knowledgeable about the whole 11+ process regarding both how it feels for the children and also for the parents and she really understands how children learn and respond best. She is able to break down complicated topics and seamlessly translate them in a way that is stress free and enjoyable. Then, she somehow manages to make really hard exam questions feel accessible and, by also teaching exam technique and what examiners are looking for, my child went from a state of overwhelm when looking at complex long answer questions, to “I can do this”…. She does all this with the warmest and most positive, supportive manner and genuinely, all the kids (and parents) adore her. She is absolutely fantastic and a gem of a teacher.

"We cannot recommend Fahmida highly enough. She was Florence’s teacher for Year 5 and Year 6, and we later engaged her privately for 11 plus tutoring for both Florence (now 15) and our son Sebbie (now 12).

Fahmida is a warm, patient and deeply caring tutor. Her approach is hands on and thoughtful, and she has a lovely way of building a child’s confidence alongside their knowledge. She was particularly wonderful with children who found certain areas more difficult, taking the time to slow down, reassure and encourage rather than push. That gentleness made a real difference and helped turn effort into genuine progress.
