I'm a qualified teacher with sixteen years of experience in schools, most recently as Assistant Headteacher (Academics) and 11+ Leader at a London prep school. I teach English, Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning and interview technique, but what I love most is the moment a child stops dreading a question type and starts looking forward to it.
The 11+ catches most children out on timing, not ability. They can answer the questions - they just can't answer them in forty-five seconds. I teach methods rather than repetition: every question type is broken into clear, repeatable steps, so children walk into the exam feeling prepared rather than hoping for the best.
I offer small group classes, taught live on Zoom and personally led by me. Children work hard, but they enjoy themselves - there's laughter in my lessons, and getting something wrong is never a disaster. In 2024-25, 90% of my pupils got their first choice school. In 2025-26, 86% did, with the rest securing their second choice. That year, my pupils achieved the highest number of offers and scholarships in the school's twenty-nine year history. But my favourite messages come much later - a parent writing a year on to say their child is happy, settled and in exactly the right school.
